American Legion Post 95

You served your country.

As a veteran, your life of service has just begun. Help your community, your country and your fellow vets. And have a good time making differences with people who get you.

Be part of the legacy. Share the vision.

Who We Are

American Legion Post 95 has been a part of the Oroville, CA community since 1933 and continues to be a force for good in our town. At its core, the American Legion is here to help veterans of all kinds and strengthen our local communities. We are involved in Boys State, American Legion Baseball, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and many fundraising activities to support the Butte County Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Oroville.

Beyond being a support system for veterans there are several other local community programs we run.

First we have a program called Boys State where we send four local, well-rounded high school boys to our state capitol, Sacramento, to learn about civic responsibility, leadership, and how our government works. The young men are given the ability to build their own mock local and state government – then one is elected governor to the mock government and is then able to go to Washington, D.C. for the National Boys State.

We also have a local baseball team, are a part of the Oroville Veterans Memorial Park, and charter the Cub Scout of America Pack #29 and Boy Scout Troop #29.

What We Do

In addition to our local community programs, we also have several other fundraising activities throughout the year.

One of our largest events of the year is the Tri-Tip Dinner and Dance, held at the Veterans Memorial Hall to raise many for the Butte County Veterans Memorial Park.

In 2019 we raised over $4k towards the completion of the Bugler statue that will be features prominently in the park.

Every year we also have an annual fireworks booth on the corner of Myers Street and Mitchell Avenue at the barbershop parking lot. There you can buy all the fireworks you need for the upcoming Fourth of July and help support a local organization.

We need your support to do our work – please contact us to learn how you can volunteer or donate.

We hold meetings at the Veterans Hall located at 2374 Montgomery Street at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of every month. These meetings are open to all American Legion members and veterans who are interested in becoming members. We hope you’ll stop by and see us.
